The grid-connected PV system uses energy from the sun to generate power. It is built to work even on an overcast day. The inverter converts the DC electricity produced by the solar panels into into 230V AC current, which can then be used for household purposes. If the system produces more power than is consumed, the surplus is fed into the mains power grid. Some electricity companies will meter the electricity fed into the grid by your system and provide a credit on your bill.
